Jazwares is a global toy company with the kind of catalog that makes B2B ecommerce genuinely interesting: lots of brands, lots of products, company-specific customers, warehouse considerations, and a sales process that needs more than a normal online store.
I worked as Lead Shopify Plus Engineer on a B2B sales portal tied to an international company acquisition. The goal was to give sales agents and business customers a cleaner way to browse products, work from company-account context, create orders, view account information, and keep the buying process inside Shopify Plus.
This was not just “make a Shopify site.” It was closer to building an internal sales tool on top of Shopify’s B2B foundation.
The work involved Shopify Plus B2B concepts like company accounts, company locations, catalog pricing, sales-agent access, draft order creation, inventory visibility, order history, and customer-specific workflows. The storefront needed to feel simple, but behind the scenes it had to understand who the buyer was, what company they belonged to, what pricing applied, what inventory was available, and how the order should be created.
The sales-agent workflow was the heart of it. Agents needed to move through the portal without treating every company like a normal retail customer. They needed the right companies, the right products, the right pricing, and the right ordering context — all without fighting the platform.
AI was part of the engineering workflow, but not the strategy. I used ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to reason through Shopify Admin GraphQL, compare implementation patterns, debug edge cases, and move faster through Liquid, JavaScript, and Shopify Plus B2B decisions. Shopify Sidekick and Flow thinking also helped around operational ideas like tagging, notifications, follow-up, and internal handoffs.
The important part was knowing what not to hand off to AI. The architecture still had to come from understanding the business rules, the Shopify Plus constraints, the data model, and the risk around pricing, inventory, and account access.
For Jazwares, the win was creating a Shopify Plus B2B experience that connected sales agents to the right customers, the right pricing, the right inventory, and the right order workflow in a cleaner, platform-native way.
AI tools helped compare GraphQL, Liquid, JavaScript, and workflow decisions during the build — but the business logic and architecture still had to be grounded in the real Shopify Plus implementation.

A custom Shopify Plus B2B dashboard gave users quick access to brands, orders, support, and new products.

The product listing was built around B2B ordering: SKUs, pack sizes, quantities, pricing, stock state, and cart actions in a table-style workflow.

The brand directory gave buyers a visual way to browse Jazwares’ catalog across licensed and owned product lines.

Product pages were structured for B2B ordering, with pack-size rules, product imagery, quantity controls, related products, and cart actions built around wholesale purchasing.

Shipping and account terms were kept inside the portal so B2B customers could reference delivery minimums, claims rules, and order policies without leaving the buying experience.

Support was kept inside the portal experience, with FAQ content and an account-aware contact form for customer questions.
